Emma Jean Jansen teaches Working with Curves in the Optical Quilt
Sunday 31st August, 10am-4pm
We are excited to welcome Emma Jean Jansen to teach two fabulous classes at Makerie focusing on curved quilting. In Sunday's class Emma will teach her Optical quilt. This quilt is made using Drunkard’s Path blocks and contrasting fabrics. The Drunkard’s Path block is the perfect introduction to this technique, as it features curves of 2 different sizes.
Emma Jean Jansen has been creating patchwork quilts since she was a teenager. She learnt patchwork from her mother and together they ran Ballarat Patchwork for over 10 years. Emma loves designing her own quilts and is known for her use of bright colours and re-take on traditional piecing. Emma is also a qualified Textile Designer getting her degree from RMIT and has released 7 fabrics ranges with the Australian company Ella Blue. In May 2016, Emma released her first book called By The Bundle, published by Lucky Spool Media.
The class requirements list can be downloaded here. Patterns, templates, and materials can be purchased in store.
