Skill Level: Should have familiarity with knit and purl stitch, casting on, increases and decreases, and knitting in the round.
Have you always dreamed of knitting socks? Not only are they warm and cozy, but they're also perfect for honing your knitting skills. What's more, they're portable, affordable, and can be completed quickly!
In order to complete the sock in a day we will knit an child size sock with a heel flap and gusset heel in 8 ply yarn. You will also receive a pattern for making 4 ply socks that you can use to practice your skills at home.
You will learn how to knit socks using magic loop method, but we will also demonstrate other methods including double-pointed needles, shorties, and trios.

Materials:
Required yarn and pattern are included in the class price.
Students will need to bring a 3.25mm circular needle of 80cm length, scissors, markers, tapestry needle, and any other accessories usually used for knitting.
Class information:
- The class will be held in the classroom of the Makerie shop at 5/100 Barrier St, Fyshwick
- There are many local options for lunch around the shop. We recommend Theo's Café and Buffet which is located just a couple of doors down from the shop.
- There is ample parking available right in front of the shop.
