Take your needlework projects to another level by adding specialty stitches to your next project. With their intricate and interesting shapes, specialty stitches will not only make your projects distinct, they can add unique textures.
In this class you will learn how to stitch a traditional 17th century style sampler with more than 30 different types of stitches.

The sampler contains a traditional Christian verse, but Lel encourages you to personalise your sampler by choosing a verse that is meaningful to you. Some suggestions:

Lel Whitbread is your embroidery teacher
Lel has been an active member of the local (ACT) embroiderer's guild for 26 years. During that time she has enjoyed teaching the young stitchers and organising the holiday classes for the younger members of the as Guild. She has also conducted several classes in a variety of techniques. Over the years she has enjoyed acquiring and sharing her skills with others particularly with counted work style embroidery and smocking.
Class Materials
The class price includes a kit consisting of the required needles, linen, and Cosmo threads to complete the project. Also included is the 44 page book containing clear instructions, stitch diagrams, and detailed photography of the stitches.
Students will be required to bring a scroll frame, q-snap, or similar to tension their fabric. A suitable frame is available from Makerie. Students should also bring stitching tools, such as scissors.
